PhD的Ph.D.是Postdoctoral, 并不是PHD,不是PHD; Postdoctoral Fellowships are a form of graduate assistantship that is offered in many fields to those who wish to pursue their education beyond Master's level and prior to doctoral candidacy, but whose research skills have not yet matured as required for the traditional Ph.D.program (which requires several years spent conducting original work at an early stage). A postdoctoral fellowship provides financial support with stipend and cost-of-living allowance, health insurance coverage up to $10k/year(in some institutions it’s less), tuition waiver and other benefits such as travel funds.
