Oxford is the top university in Europe (and one of the five best universities worldwide) according to this year's U.S. News & World Report ranking, so it seems like a good time to ask about how many PhD students have been awarded at Oxford, or are currently enrolled there.
This has always seemed to me to be an issue with very little information available on Google and Wikipedia. I think all too often institutions want applicants/applicants' families just to assume that they will get accepted, but we don't know what their actual success rate - even for those applying as first choice to Oxford - is really like until after applications open next November and December every year! And then, people only find out if you got a place once your offers start dropping on May Day bank holiday weekend(so you can imagine what sort of pressure some would feel). So here is hoping everyone has received an offer by now and hopefully not another six months down the line...
